First Communion
Celebrating God’s Love and Faithfulness During Life’s Journey.

St. Philip the Deacon has the privilege of walking with people as they celebrate a number of special occasions during the course of their life. These include baptism, first communion, confirmation, weddings, and funerals. We are glad to accompany you, both in planning and preparing for these sacred events.
The body and blood of Christ, given and shed for you.
Through the sacrament of Holy Communion, Christians have been nourished at God’s table ever since Jesus first shared this sacred meal with the disciples.
Twice a year, we offer a family-centered workshop to prepare children in third grade for the reception of their first communion. Children and their parents make the decision when to enroll. Generally, children are ready for instruction in this sacrament when they start asking deeper questions about their faith.
If you receive Holy Communion in your home congregation, you are always welcome to receive Holy Communion at St. Philip the Deacon. Holy Communion is celebrated every week at our services on Saturday evening and Sunday at 10:45 a.m., and at all services on the first Sunday of each month and on festival Sundays.
