community series
Two Series. One Invitation.

St. Philip the Deacon hosts two free public series as a gift to the broader community, with renowned speakers that connect faith to everyday life and performers whose excellence celebrates the gift of music. All are welcome.

Public Conversations Where Faith Comes to Life
Faith & Life Lecture Series
The Faith & Life Lecture Series is a community service of St. Philip the Deacon. The series, which began in 2003, exists to create welcoming and accessible public forums where members of the Twin Cities community can hear nationally known speakers reflect on how Christian faith is related to different dimensions of everyday life. Thanks to the generosity of corporate and individual series underwriters, the talks are always free public events.
The lectures typically last about 50 minutes, followed by a brief period for Q&A after the presentation by the speaker. After the Q&A, speakers are generally available for one-on-one discussion with members of the audience during an informal reception.

World-Class Music in an Intimate Setting
Herald Music Series
he Herald Music Series, a community service of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, exists to make exceptional live music accessible to everyone. Past performers have included concert organists, jazz ensembles, marimba quartets, and even a silent film with live musical accompaniment.
The series is a reflection and an extension of St. Philip the Deacon’s long commitment to outstanding music, and takes advantage of our architecturally and acoustically beautiful sanctuary.

Christian Wisdom
