We are pleased to announce the hire of our new Director of High School and Young Adult Ministry, Olsen Pancoast.
Olsen grew up in Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Minnesota, and graduated from Becker High School and Concordia College in Moorhead. He is the son of Lutheran pastors—both his mom and his dad—and has spent five summers working for Camp Christikon in Montana.
He is currently serving a one-year commitment as the worship assistant at Holden Village in Chelan, Washington—the Lutheran retreat center that gives our mid-week Lenten service its name (Holden Evening Prayer). Olsen is particularly passionate about outdoor and camp ministries, and he is thrilled to be joining the SPD family.
“I look forward to getting to know the students and families at St. Philip the Deacon,” he said, “and am excited to build on this congregation’s excellent history of High School and Young Adult ministries.”
Olsen will begin full-time with us this fall after completing his tenure with Holden Village. Until then, he will be connecting with our high school students virtually, and members of our Youth Team will continue to minister to these students.
Welcome, Olsen!
