The Six Needs of Mourning

When

Wednesday, November 7th from 9:30am – 10:30am

The death of someone loved changes our lives forever. How can we journey through the grief we feel inside in a healing and meaningful way? The journey requires mourning – expressing our thoughts and feelings in a variety of ways. Dr. Alan Wolfelt identifies six basic human needs around mourning, which we will explore together.

Mourning is a result of having loved. It is not an illness to be recovered from or an issue to be resolved. But grief and loss can be reconciled as the six needs of mourning are embraced. Over time, the sharp, everpresent pain of grief can grow into a renewed sense of meaning and purpose and reinvolvement in the activities of living. Come. Bring your story. These sessions are more about learning and less about support, but we will be kind with each other’s stories of loss.

Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m., and repeated Wednesdays 9:30-10:30 a.m.
