People of God Growing in Faith and Friendship.

Jesus was committed to helping people grow in their faith and relationships. He taught frequently using a variety of teaching methods to communicate his message. And he fostered opportunities for genuine relationships; especially around the table.

Our Adult Ministry is broad and expansive. We offer a variety of learning experiences and fellowship opportunities every week. There are small group discussions, large group lectures, Bible studies, topical studies, and retreats as wells as field trips and outdoor adventures, dinners and concerts.

“We come to scripture not to learn a subject but to steep ourselves in a person.” – C.S. Lewis

Our Adult Ministry invites you  to come to know Jesus and his love for us in a wide variety of ways. You might find yourself joining a small group pouring over a passage of scripture, around a table sharing stories of faith, in a boat with a line in the water talking about the parables of Jesus, or even on a plane off to explore the places Jesus walked. All are welcome. Come and bring a friend!

Connecting our hearts and minds with Jesus.

There is something going on almost every day of the week year round for adult learners at St. Philip the Deacon. Bible Studies, small group discussions, lectures, speakers, Lectio Divina, and book club to name a few.

The Faith & Life Lecture Series is a community service of St. Philip the Deacon. The series, which began in 2003, exists to create welcoming and accessible public forums where members of the Twin Cities community can hear nationally known speakers reflect on how Christian faith is related to different dimensions of everyday life. Thanks to the generosity of corporate and individual series underwriters, the talks are always free public events.

The lectures typically last about 50 minutes, followed by a brief period for Q&A after the presentation by the speaker. After the Q&A, speakers are generally available for one-on-one discussion with members of the audience during an informal reception.
